I've had my leopard (Casper) for a little over 6 hours now and he's in a 24"×24"12 terrarium. I'm doing the closed chamber thing and I took Yvonne's idea or somebody's idea of aluminum foil over the screened top. I even cut holes over the lights. Enclosed picture is the current temperature and humidity levels. Is this fine? I feel that it's a little too hot, but then again, I'm not a tortoise. Also, how long can he stay in here before I have to upgrade to a larger enclosure? Any advice whether good or bad is appreciated. I don't care if you bash me. I just want to do what's right for a healthy and happy tortoise. 20180731_163514.jpg Casper.

No, I wouldn’t use any mercury vapor bulbs for baby tortoises. I would stick with a flood light/normal daylight basking bulb, a tube uvb, and a ceramic heat emitter :)

I don't have that much room on top and I already cut two holes for the CHE and MVB. I don't know any other possibilities until she outgrows this enclosure in about 6-12 months?

Actually, I’d say she’s already outgrown it. I wouldn’t keep a baby tortoise in anything less than a 40 gallon, 4x2 feet being better. I would recommend getting a 40-60(or bigger)gallon tub and cutting holes in the top and lining them with foil for the lights.
