Light coloured shell

Hi. My russian tortoises shell seems to be getting lighter. Is this normal ? She is 7yrs old and appears healthy.

Normally new growth is pale and then darkens but that quantity is not all new and the black is it not expanding. I would cross check care sheet , calcium you provide , temperature, hydration, diet, light and food. If all good then mostly likely this will be the colour which is not bad. An expert may have an opinion.

Thank you. I seem to be doing everything that is recommended and she is eating well, very active and pooing ok. I'll keep an eye on her.

I dont see anything concerning, looks like a healthy shell, pigmentation varies widely within species.
