Hi everyone,

I just recently bought the Arcadia ProT5 UVB Kit, 34in/39w Desert 12% UVB for my Horse field tortoise and on the description it says it is suitable for basking as well. Does this mean I do not need a separate basking light?

What is the temperature inside your enclosure?
Tortoises bask to raise their body temperature.
That T5 will provide almost no heat.

That is a superior light fixture. (Very nice)
Is it going to be placed on a screen top?
These put out a lot of UV and can be placed further away from the animal and are strong enough to go through screen.
