Its an LED; it could be used for ambient lighting but it wouldn't work for UVB or heat/basking.

I agree with Jaizei. Also, I wouldn't use it because the color temp is only 3000K. Its going to look yellowish. I prefer 5000-6500K bulbs that make light that appears more "white". You could use this in addition to other ambient lighting.
