just want to share my tortoise video, a CB Manouria. e. phayrei a.k.a Burmese Brown Mountain Tortoise strolling..

He's lovely, so defined and clean. Looks rather turtle-like. Low domed carapace. Is this typical?

yes, it's typical to Manouria.. they also tend to have shallow concave scutes, but in the wild, usually abraded and get smoothed

here's two example of adult Manourias, on raise in captive, the other is in the wild.. you can see difference on the carapace

Can we see the pectoral scutes?

Over here we call the Mep "Burmese Black Mountain Tortoise".
The Mee are referred to as the "Burmese Brown Mountain Tortoise".

I've post it before in Manouria section, it have MEP pectoral scutes, but the coloration is typical MEE.. it could be intergrade, but there's photo from 2018 of wild Sumatran Manouria with the same pectoral scutes, which high chance it's a MEE, because MEP isn't native to Sumatra.. so, who knows..

This is very interesting. Thank you for sharing this. I do remember reading the original thread you made about this.
