Nice find! A very cute little boxie.I'm pretty good at digging up the box turtles nest, but apparently I missed one last fall.

Almost shredded this little dude with the lawnmower. Definitely looks like one of Sandy's babies.
An entire nest. I'm sure the other babies are walking around in the enclosure, but usually most of them don't make it in ground.Nice find! A very cute little boxie.
Did you mean that you think you missed just the one egg or an entire nest?
Well, hopefully you may find one or two more in the next few days or weeks. Good luck.An entire nest. I'm sure the other babies are walking around in the enclosure, but usually most of them don't make it in ground.
When they are first born, the shells are very soft, which is why they hide so much. Unfortunately, they do become meals for the adults if not caught in time.Well, apparently I did too.
Found this guy/girl while looking for the fresh nest from the adult turtles' adult activities 6-8 weeks ago. I was on my hands and knees digging when I saw him walking around. I could not find any others, but who knows. He's pictured next to the other baby from last year who I kept indoors and did not brumate. My adults did not awake from brumation until early April, so I'm pretty sure it's impossible that he was laid this year.

Besides the visual difference, the little baby is 7 grams, the big baby is 44 grams. Amazing that they are approximately the same age, give or take a few months. I have no idea which is "older," I didn't see the female laying any eggs and I only found the one clutch by digging.
