Missing from enclosure

Thanks. Yeah, I am constantly going out there to check, but part of me has resigned to the fact that something probably took him. The breeder who sold us the tortoise actually came to my house to help look for him and she said that the lids could have allowed a smaller rat to pry his way inside. In her experience, they can carry a baby tortoise out of an enclosure. It's very sad and also frustrating not knowing for certain.

Regret to hear that you seem to have somehow given up. Please keep in mind one thing: HOPE is the last thing to die. You never know. Your tort might show up without prior notice. And I sincerely hope that you'll soon inform us that he has. Please keep up hope.

Oh, I am definitely hopeful! I think it helps to hear experienced keepers like you tell me that he could still show up He is, after all, a 2 inch tortoise in an 11x5 ft enclosure, so I guess there is a lot of room to hide. If he turns up, I will let everyone know.
