I'm probably wrong here, but they don't look like Redfoots to me...They look like desert tortoises, Gopherus agassizii.
I am hoping they are just on paper towels for picture taking. They really want a substrate that can create humidity for them and a place to burrow...

Good luck on your pair of torties, they are just darling little critters. :) Hang around on the forum and read all the articles and threads on Redfoots/Desert tortoises, and you should be an expert tortoise keeper by this time next year!

They have that redfoot shell, but there head didnt have the coloring i am used to...

They are California desert tortoises. Not Redfoots not Sulcata...they are gopherus agassizii

Maggie you are so right ! They ARE Desert torts !! Ok, well then go read up on the desert tortoise section venom ! As Maggie said, paper towel as the substrate isn't so good, doesnt keep any humidity and they can't burrow! Enjoy learning

Where did you get them and what did they tell you they were? Hope you didnt buy them.

Nice torts

Very interesting specie!

However, the substrate sucks. I highly recommand you a sand/dirt mix substrate.
