Wow what an exciting morning I have had. I have been out to Thunder Bay several times in the past two years and this is the most I've seen.

I have been away all week for work. I work out of Province so my job has me drive out to Thunder Bay Ontario every 8 weeks or so. I'll be heading home after a days work tomorrow (finally).

Anyway my morning started off with a timber-wolf standing on the shoulder of the highway about 30 minutes outside Thunder Bay. I pulled over to take a picture but couldn't get my camera out fast enough and he made it off the highway.

So... I made sure the camera was on the passenger seat after that. I then came across a moose walking along the tree line! He was further in the bush but when I pulled over and he got super curious in me so began to come closer. I think he would have crossed the road and came right up to my truck if there wasn't so much traffic.

Excuse my anger but the dufus in the car behind me got out of his car and scared the moose off when he walked towards it. I guess it's better than the moose coming on the highway and getting hit but I still don't understand why people have to approach wild animals.

Literally two minutes after this guy another moose was out in the clear. He was double the size of this one and just massive, unfortunatly he was a coward and took off before I could get any clear pictures. I got a picture of the top of his head in the bushes.

I think the idiot who got out of the car was more at risk of attack then me. I don't know what he was thinking.

That's who I am talking about, it's always the idiot who wants to get a little better view of wildlife that ends up getting attacked, and the animal gets most of the blame..

Hahaha yeah and he was using a camera phone too. I am glad I have a nice lens on my camera so I could get the nice nifty pictures while not getting out of my car, haha.

I thought I seen a wolf on my last trip but it was too dark and raining so I could have just seen a nice big husky. This one was definatly a wolf. I do have a REALLY crappy picture on my camera phone that I can post if need be.

The wolf was cool, but the moose by far got me the most excited. I love taking pictures of wildlife.

looks like a young bull. The bigger one was probably wiser..
I went to yellowstone years ago and got some good pics of moose.. i hid behind trees.. but some people.. OMG!! and with the Bison. They get gored every year getting pics with them.. people think its s zoo.. and the rangers told me they have tourists asking where the 'Danggerroo's are...... they see signs everywhere for them.... um those signs are warning people or DANGEROUS ANIMALS...
but are you supposed to post signs in every single language? ! Job security... for the rangers.. to protect the people form themselves!

Yeah, definatly a young bull. I didn't notice at the time but when I got home I looked at the pictures and seen the nubs. He wasn't shy at all - which is bad in general - great because I was able to get some pictures of one of my favorite native mammals.

GREAT shots! Reminds me of some shots a friend of mine took some 20 years ago or so! He was driving along a highway in Alaska when a grizzly lumbered across the road. When my friend pulled to the side of the road, a big, black wolf came trotting out of the woods at a very respectful distance...but definitely trailing the bear. He shot several pictures of each...panning back and forth from wolf to bear to wolf...you get the idea! Anyway as they made their way down the ravine...my friend finally captured both animals in the same frame.

Very nice pics :) I agree 150% with you, I do not understand why people always have to go bother wild animals... Thanks for sharing!

If you ever come across those photo's I for one would love to see them. I am fascinated by wildlife to no end. Anytime I see anything I snap away. Honestly I wish I could quit my job and just do that for a living.

Thanks for the compliments.
