Mulch

Hi,
Our tortoise seems to prefer the enclosed side of her habit, but I noticed she has been digging and scratching a lot, she sometimes even gets under her coconut mat. I'm wondering if she needs more mulch? How much should she have and what is a good kind I can get in larger quantities that is not bad for her. Also, she doesn't seem to scratch her warming side as much, is there a reason?

They like to burrow I would provide more substrate so she is able to do so Cypress mulch or orchid bark works.

I have an area with 12” depth for my tort. She likes to dig.

Definitely need more substrate. Also, pictures of your baby and the enclosure will help us pin point more things to help her be happy and comfortable
