Mushrooms?

I found mushrooms growing in shelly's tub this weekend under both the food and water bowls.
From what I can find online, they look like shaggy mane mushrooms:

anyone know if they are harmful? I pulled out most of them, left one to see if I can get a better identification.
I'm guessing spores were in the potting soil?

All my torts love them. My Central American woodturtle was the first to eat them when they came up in her enclosure. I believe a well fed tortoise would ignore toxic mushrooms.

Mushrooms are a fungus that grows from decaying wood. I have no clue what causes the different kinds to sprout. Makes them sound not so appetizing huh? I miss going up to WA state to pick fresh oyster mushrooms and others I forget the name of. Man we had it good in OR.

Actually, they grow from decaying "anything." I have mushrooms growing on my horse manure pile!!

LOL, I just fed a bunch of oyster mushrooms to my Hingebacks. They still prefer the portabellas, won't touch the whites anymore since they got a taste of the 'bellas.

I have had mushrooms grow out in my horse pasture that were so huge it would blow you away. Horse manure is a great medium for mushrooms!

Well I don't have a horse manure pile. So I'll stick to the grocery store .

I don't think I would feed mushrooms to a sulcata. It isn't something that I would logically think they have acess to in the wild, and there are things that are fine for some animals but toxic to others. Forest floor tortoises and box turtles do love mushrooms, however, and they are an excellent source of fiber for torts that don't get fiber through grasses etc.

LOL, Dawna, I would stick to the grocery store anyway, at least you know what are getting... No accidental trips, lol!

You can feed anything to a Sulcata and they will eat it...but SHOULD you feed mushrooms to a Sulcata? No you should not. That is not something they would normally find in the wild and is not in their diet...
