I've seen many photos of sulcata hatchlings, and their front legs are quite yellow/brown for the entire legs. but my sulcata seems to have dark areas on the inner part of his front legs. I'm not sure if it has always been like that since I got him. Is it normal, is it indicating some kinds of diseases? He also likes to rub his face on those areas, although his eyes seem to be normal.

p.s.
It looks a bit brighter in the photo than it actually is.
He eats and sleeps perfectly fine and he always have sunlight to bask in if he wants to.

Looks healthy and normal to me. Probably stains from food and wiping eyes or digging burrows in substrate. His eyes are very big and clear. He is extended fighting you while handling so looks like his front limbs are healthy to me. His nails are worn which means he uses his front legs to dig and walk alot. Usually the perfect blond skin they have at birth on anything but a hatchling means they are either scrubbed with a brush or not getting much play time in the dirt and such. Mine stayed dirty looking cause he was outside as much as possible and burying constantly. :) great looking sully you have!

Hi and welcome. Your baby looks fine. Nothing to worry about. Surfergirl is right on. Btw, have you read Tom's thread on how to raise a healthy baby sulcata? If not, I recommend you do cause many people have misconceptions about how to raise sulcatas, and in doing so, have raised sick, pyramiding torts. You can find his threads by searching under his username, Tom.
