My temp outdoor pen

Due to a combination of quarantine and nice weather, I went out to my shed, grabbed a few plywood boards and some odds and ends, and tossed together a quick outdoor pen for Koopa. Inside is just regular topsoil, some untreated spagmoss and a half bag of play sand. We’ll plant a few cuttings in a month or so, when we are certain there won’t be any freezes as night.

again, this is a temporary pen. Once tax money and quarantines are done, I can spend money on building a more permanent solution

Nice. Love how it says "casa del Koopa". ? Are you hispanic? If so, from which country? Love the culture and the language.

got to spend the warmer part of the afternoon in his pen. LOVES IT! went to town on a pile of weeds.

Added several uprooted thistles and other "established" weeds from around the yard. He's in tortoise heaven. Anytime he sees us he starts doing a dominance "head/chest" bob thing. I've known enough reptiles to know that means "This is mine! leave me be!" My wife and I were watching him on our security camera over the pen and he was climbing, digging, and parading all over his pen.

He was only there at the height of the afternoon while the ground temp was in the 70's. I think he'll do fine in the summer.

Peekaboo!!!! His favorite hide in the enclosure... a cheap kid‘s sandbox bucket. Maybe the color?
