Hey
How do I know if my Russian tortoises nails are too long? And I just want to check his beak is fine.

Thank you

Hello Alan, and welcome. I see that like me, you hung around reading things on the forum before actually joining in. What a cute little face Trotsky has ! I am not an expert, but I would say the right-hand side of his beak has a little tiny chipping near the front. What surface does he feed on ? People here often recommend putting the food on a flat piece of slate to keep the beak even. I think his nails are fine - nice and sturdy looking.

They look good and warn ensure you use terracotta dish fir food to help pumice beak. If you clip you need animal nail clipper and a light I,e torch behind the claw so you see the blood in the claw. Clip above the blood. For beak I advise taking to local reptile shop or find a vet they use dremel drill and avoids any bad chips or cracks.
