Does anybody know on here of any one who might sell or makes custom tortoise enclosures, maybe possibly a website or a person? (for indoors use only)!!!
Just curious, and not at all trying to be critical, but are you willing to build it yourself? I am assuming this enclosure is for your use. The cost of having a custom built cage made and then shipped to your house is phenomenal. I took some ideas from bits and pieces on the forum threads here, and put together a total cost for myself. It would be about 110 dollars for material where I live, and that is INCLUDING a nice raised shelved stand. I made a good 3X4X2 enclosure plan. That is of course, assuming you have access to your own tools. But, if you would rather, CagesByDesign is real cool, but pricey. I am in the construction field and could help out with plans and a material sheet if you would like.
There are a few out there, but you could do better by building your own. That way you can make it fit the space you have, give it your own configuration and add your own special ideas. Some people have come up with great ideas like using old book cases and stuff.
The tort doesn't really care if he's sleeping inside a store bought condo or a clay pot from the backyard. He just wants a good safe home.
I bought my 3x4 bookshelf at a thrift store for $15. Just make sure the sides are tall enough or you'll have to screw in some thin plywood or something similar because once you add the substrate you lose a lot of the sides. I lined it w/ a shower curtain and filled the holes w/ 100% silicone. Just take your time and look through all the enclosures. Something will jump out at you. Good luck!!
Sure thing! I'm here if you need help putting ideas onto paper. Just putting it out there again. I'm in the process of getting all my mats together to build this weekend. I'll post pics in the enclosures section as things start to come together.
