I got my 2(ish) year old tort two days ago and wasn't very well informed by the seller but from the forums I think I vaguely know the basics.

A couple questions:

Should he be out in the sun as well as having the UVB light?
His shell was slightly (but not worryingly) bumpy when i got him- is this the beginning of pyramiding?
Can you bathe a tort TOO MUCH?
Does the heat lamp need to go off at night even if he has a cool, dark space in his table that he sleeps in?

Any other tips for first time owners would be helpful too, have a great day everyone :)

I can answer a few of these. If your tort can get daily or at least 4 days a week year round outdoor time UVB is not needed. If not during cooler months you will need it.

You can’t bathe a tort too much but at 2 years daily baths are not needed.

The bumps probably are pyramiding but a picture would help.
