Recently I got a new Herman's tort (yes I have a disease [GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]). She (and I think she's leaning that way) is about 4.5" scl and has very light markings on the plastron and some damage from shell rot. I've treated it and there is a bit of an open grove that keeps getting filled with junk. Is there anything I can do?

Is it a groove that is healed? If not, I would keep, her on paper towels until it is completely healed. If it is already healed, just a bigger type of substrate, like cypress mulch is all I would know to do.
