Well I converted an enclosure that previously held some dragons to use for my torts. Anja and Terry had suggested laying it flat. However, it took up too much space (which is always at a premium). So my husband cut some melamine which we installed at the bottom of each so that we could have a deeper substrate. I put the doors back on but keep one open. Still have some work to do on the interior design aspects, plants, etc. But it gave my leopard, Dove (in the top) and my Russian, Rex (bottom) much more space.
The enclosure is 48" wide and a couple of feet deep, so it gives them some nice running around room.
