So I'm looking into getting an indian star tortoise, and I figured I'd ask for opinions here before I made anything final.
Just have a couple questions about the enclosure, might make another thread about where to buy it..
1. I'm trying to stay away from a glass tank, and the best thing I can find that I have space for is a Laguna preformed pond basin 51" long by 32" wide and 18" tall. Would one of these be big enough for an indoor enclosure?
Would a second one be good enough for an outdoor enclosure given good weather?(my yard gets sprayed with chemicals and i don't really have a say in it since it's my parents).
2. I know mixing tortoise species in general is a bad idea, but would I be able to let my russian and (still up to debate) indian star tortoise be in the same outdoor enclosure while they're supervised(given they're similar size, ofc)? Or would it be better for them to take turns?
3. I've never had a young tortoise before, do they need grow-out enclosures like some other animals do? Or can I put a young one in the aforementioned enclosure and have him be comfortable?
4. Would this be unsuitable for an indian star/ should I look for a different species/abandon the idea entirely b/c it wouldn't work at all?
Sorry if the post is a lil cluttered, btw.
