I understand your position on the subject. I wasn't assuming you were a nut.
But the tortoise affection issue has come up before. It's not unusual at all.
And you're SO right that it's very hard to convey your sarcasm in print.
I've offended a few new members without meaning to.

Unusual, maybe, but informative? Most definitely! I wouldn't say mines affectionate, and maybe I'm filling in the gaps with my mind, but I do see him exhibit certain patterns. Like, if I don't let him see me enough or spend enough time with him, he'll start having sex with his log. Or if I let him out and don't pay enough attention to him, he'll poop on my floor. Maybe these are merely coincidences and maybe I'm just an idiot, but then I would prefer to remain ignorant and think he loves me as much as I love him!
