It's something I have been trying to find for quite awhile, I was on the phone with the seller till after midnight Thursday morning and I received it at 4 pm on Friday (my 60th) so I guess it was a birthday present. there's not many out there for sale, and this one has a good history and the price was acceptable,it seems to be doing good, eating and acting like a normal tortoise. It's a 2009 hatchling. ---- I had a Great Birthday-- Thanks, LenJacqui said:Neat! Is this a birthday gift?
emysemys said:Did you get it from Hoekstra? He's the only one I've heard of who has had breeding success with them.
emysemys said:Yes...Ralph Hoekstra. The tortoises don't actually belong to him, but some gal who lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. He's in Southern Calif. (I hope my memory is serving me correctly. Old age you know...)
Dwight Lawson is associated with the Fort Worth zoo, right? So are those Impressas affiliated with TSA? If I didn't have so many different kinds of tortoise I would be interested in trying the Impressa. I understand its pretty hard to get them to eat (the WC ones). Did you get some good advice on caring for your new baby?
