Nighttime Lighting

I currently have the Powersun (160 watts) in my Russian Tort's habitat; it provides both heat and UVB. However, my room has been getting a bit chilly at night lately. I have an extra lamp, so should I buy a separate heat bulb to put in it for the nighttime? If so, any bulb recommendations? What temperature should it be kept at during nighttime hours?

A CHE (ceramic heat emitter) might be what you need. If not that cold, I'd use a black incandescent bulb.
Almost no light output. Makes it warmer and cheap to purchase and to use.

Unless your house is dropping below 55-60 F, you should not need night heat for a russian. A night time cool down is good for them.

It gets really chilly. Would a 60 watt heat emitter work?

Every enclosure is different, so there is no way to know. I'd get a 100 or 150 watt and set it on a thermostat so that it can't over heat, but you'll still have enough wattage to get the job done in winter.

What is the overnight low in your house? Chilly is such a relative term. When I get out of my pool in summer and its 105 in the shade I feel chilly if there is a breeze, until I dry off.

I love cool temps, so I have several CHE wattages (even though I also have an on/off type thermostat). As it gets cooler, I put in a bigger one. If you get a proportional thermostat, one big CHE would be good. I will be getting one of those myself. I also use a heat mat on a rheostat to bump up the night temps and keep the hide warmer.
