So i unfortunately had to move house, 30+ miles away in a rickety old van on the 27th which meant moving my eggs. Luckily we all made it in one piece and seem to be doing ok. There have been quite a few developments since i last checked them, and i want to see if they're normal or if maybe the move hurt them in anyway. I'm pretty sure i've seen one or two move in the egg since we moved. Sorry for the bad photo quality, my camera broke and have to use my phone.

This is the most developed egg, its always been further on than the others.

One a little behind that one:

The air bubble is getting a lot bigger. To me it makes sense since they're using up the yolk more as they grow, but its good to be sure.

still look good, if the red veins start to fade at all that's when your in trouble but they both look great. Coming up to hatching the solid mass will appear almost black and yes some of our eggs were 50/50 with the airsack and embryo. Hard to imagine a tortoise fitting in the remaining area but remember they are more or less folded in half.

Keep us posted.

Well today is 131 days incubation and a few days ago i had to move them again which i didn't want to do :( We lost electricity at my mams house and had a bit of flooding. We had to move out for a few days with all electrics turned off so i brought them to my house where they'll stay. Im very worried that all this moving them will make me lose them all, but i've seen at least one move inside. The trip this time thankfully was only about 4 miles.

I've seen little brown spots on the eggs and i don't know what they are, but time will tell. The air bubble on number 6 is also huge now. If they do hatch they'll be little miracles!

that can happen alright, ours took 128 days for the first to hatch adn 148 days for the last but we incubated low for males, 27.5c I think. What are you incubating at?

Are males hard to find in your area? Wondering why you incubated for males.

Well, the most advanced egg has pipped :) He's made a little hole and is having a well earned snooze. You can just about make out an eye :)

Well, baby is doing well :) I've checked on him and he seems to have a yolk sac still attached thats a fair size. He's still tucked up in his egg, so hopefully he'll stay there till he's absorbed some more of it. He's adamant not to stay put and is pretty determined to have a walk around. Not even out of the egg yet and already as stubborn as his mam! I put him in a smaller tub in a nest of warm damp kitchen roll and he seemed to settle down. Also offered him a little water, which he seemed to take :)
