You may notice that I have my cat Pearl as my avatar instead of a tortoise. 
That's because I don't have the pleasure of sharing my life with a tortoise just yet. I'm a vet tech and love all animals, but it was really my husband who piqued my interest in the shelled kind. He's fascinated with turtles and tortoises of all types. We know, however, that we need to wait until we have a little more $ and hopefully space as well before we seriously consider buying or adopting a tortoise. But I look forward to reading all of your thoughts and absorbing everything I can about proper tortoise care in the meantime.
