I wake up before Z does....who am I kidding, I usually have to wake God up!

I was hoping to hear about his old Sunbeams or two stroke cars....but Vdubs are great! The Thing! I haven't heard that name in decades, very cool! He's got a great hobby and there's a ton of machinist talent in the UK.

Kerry and I saw a late 60's(small tailights) van last weekend, perfect in every visible way...the burnt orange color....I rushed to roll down the window, just so I could hear it!!

Whew, a '57 original....wow, the year Superman(not that one, THIS one) was born. The Tiny window! That would be a treat to own....but Kerry would likely commit an accidental homicide if I did......the "hydroplane incident" is barely 2 weeks old, after all! LOL

Out of curiosity, in Pounds, what's the 57 worth, generally speaking?

'63, '66, '72 super bee, '79 Fastback wagon w/ EFI. Whoever thought of simply pressuring the windshield wiper fluid container instead of a motor/pump....is still one of the "Genius's of all time"!
It's fairly early here so you must be up super early!!

I always forget about the washer fluid thing!! Haha we've got accessories that they sold with vdubs years ago that were ingenious (and vaguely sketchy on the health and safety front) such as an in car coffee machine!!

Great article here with some of the accessories you could buy!

Some of the American stuff would be cool to have! The beetle is worth about £15,000 so maybe $16,000 dollars. Its actually not an oval, it was the third produced of the next model which keeps the price down.

Well...he's just selling a very original 57 built vw beetle and also a not air cooled 89 landrover 90. Also selling a needs work 70's bug. That will leave him with an early vw bay which has been cut up to have a caravan put on the back to turn it into a snail camper, and has a German army 70's Trekker (the civilian equivalent was The Thing).

He specialises in Air cooled restoration for work so there are always a lot around!

Do you have air cooled cars?
No
I collect old Japanese motorcycles. But I appreciate all unusual vehicles

Late 70's and early 80s jap bikes are big over here, I'm afraid I've only had the standard RR's and fazers of the mid noughties!!
