1. The basking bulb is fine, but you can save some money by just buying one at the hardware store.
2. CHE is good, but why do you need that for a russian?
3. Vitamins are good, but you need a calcium supplement too, depending on the age and diet of your new tort.
4. No need for disinfectant. You can use dilute bleach or ammonia, instead of spending money on that stuff, if you feel you need disinfectant for something.
5. I would not use an enclosure like that. To small and just not designed in a way that appeals to me.
6. That fixture is not good. Don't use the plastic type. Only use the ceramic based fixtures. Again they can be bought at the hardware store for about $12 with a nice big aluminum hood.

Thank you very much that's helped a lot! I had a feeling the table would be too small, I think I'm just gonna renovate an old book case :) thanks again! X

If you are in the UK, your tortoise will not be able to be in the sun most of the year. You will need some indoor UV. I recommend a long tube style florescent or a mercury vapor bulb. I recommend that you do NOT use a coil type cfl bulb. Those can damage reptile eyes. The pet store will likely try to sell you one and tell you its is fine.

Where are you? I have a bookcase enclosure that I am retiring. My four CDTs have an outdoor pen now and I don't see me using this one again. It is 3 ft wide and 7 ft long. Divided into two sections and already lined with heavy tarp. I have it on a raised base which you are welcome to as well. I am in Anaheim CA but if you are too far away anyone else is welcome to as well. Let me know if you would like a picture.

The tortoise house is not bad, but why buy that, when you could go and buy a bookshelf and set it on it's back? I bought one at Walmart once for 25$ You may even had some lying around! The house could be a nice alternative for baby tortoises, but for a juvenile or adult you might as well buy a bookcase (it's cheaper two!) or just build one from scratch with plywood. How's your research doing on the care? :) here are some Russian tortoise care sheets along with my husbands website "Tortoisecountry" http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Care/cs-russian.htm http://russiantortoise.net/care_sheet.htm http://tortoisecountry.com/russian-tortoise-care/
