I’m going to be building an out door inclosure for my Russians tomorrow. Anyone have suggestions for what the enclosure walls should be made of? What should be in the enclosure? I would also love to see some pictures of your own enclosures.
Thanks!

Here are some ideas. Front wall atleast 12in. The rest high so you can add a 2nd deck.

I think you said outdoor...this is mine for a desert tortoise.
I live in low desert, so this shade house helps cool his burrow.

Construction wasn't finished yet...

I understand deserts and russians require about the same housing, so maybe these will help you with ideas.

Here's my outdoor Russian yard. There's also a couple shelters behind where I'm standing, out of the picture. And here's what it looks like today. What a waste, huh? They're all sleeping and have no access to this wonderful food:

I first put down masonry caps then set the first fence board on the cap. This discourages them from digging under the fence:

Thank you,
I have a ton of stepping stones sitting on the side and I love the idea. Just got all the materials I’ll start building on Monday. I’ll upload some photos of the finished product.

There’s the finished enclosure:
Added a humid house and going to be putting in some plants soon. Maybe going to build a shallow pond with a waterfall.

In your pictures, you show a fence. My concern is the space between the bottom of the fence and the bricks. From the picture it looks quite big for a Russian. They may be able to get through there. Russians are known to be great climbers and diggers.

That brick wall under the fence looks like it is much too high for a Russian to climb.

Your enclosure looks great to me!

It might look small in the photo but it is actually much higher. I tested it out and they can’t reach more than half of the height of the brick wall.
