A while back, I ran a dedicated water line directly to my tortoise enclosure with separate taps for filling both of the pools and one that operated my overhead misting system.
The misting system has been a royal pain in the rear. Two issues that are always going on are 1) If it is at all windy, the mist gets blown away. Sometimes not even getting my 28' x12' damp at all.
2) The misting nozzles are always clogging up and either not spraying at all or shooting a tiny, pinpoint stream. The holes are simply too small.
3)The lines are photo sensitive. They get hard and crack and leak in the sun.
The misting hose with nozzles was about $40 and had to be modified to fit my 1/2 PVC pipes.
It lasted about 15 months.

This is my replacement.
Less than $15 of superior rain making.
I've used three "shrub" sprinkler heads placed 4-5 feet apart.
Save yourself some money and make your own.
Now it rains every day for 20 minutes.
No mist. RAIN.

Agree completely! My experience matches yours with outdoor enclosures and " making it rain". Just too much mineral in my water and misters just won't work long before they're clogged. Also have to protect pvc as UV will degrade it quickly.

I go with sprinklers but I make it rain for about 2 minutes every 90-120 minutes. Keeps the plants and grass watered but not too wet. Also keeps the plants dripping water as the tortoises push under for quite a while
