This is a silly (serious :-( ) question. My girlfriend, our daughter and I are leaving town for July 4th vacation. My Tilley (African Sulcata) will be 1year old next month and appears to be healthy. Will he be ok if I just put a pile of greens and alpha pellets in his 'cage'? I will be gone from the morning of the 3rd and be back later morning of the 6th. Yes Im paranoid...

Are you planning on leaving lights and things on timers or completely off? House heat set at what temps to come on? I imagine you have AC set to come on if it gets too hot?

Of course the best of all world's is to have somebody who comes in and does a quick looksee, even if they do not touch him in any way.

Greens will spoil pretty quick too. Use some spineless opuntia pads. Just throw a whole pad in there and he can nibble at will. And pull the water bowl too. Give him a good soak before you leave and when you return, but don't leave the water bowl in there. If he soils it on day one, you don't want him drinking from it on day three. And definitely have someone come check on him each day...

I'd have someone Tort sit for ya.

I'd do it myself if I was close to where you live!

Have a friend / relative you can come over once a day to just pop in?

What's the temp like where you are?

Oy, boarding him at the close pet store sounds easiest.

Do you trust them? If so, it may indeed be the easiest solution.

I'd only do that if it was a locally run place with people who were properly educated in tortoises and that I knew and trusted.
