Phayrei question

Hey guys, I am raising phayrei outside now. I am in central Florida. I have started seeing designs or something on the carapace of two of my phayrei. I have noticed specks on my emys emys that are underneath the surface of the carapace and I only see them when they are wet. Is it the same thing on the phayrei? Or is something going on? Just curious if any of you guys have experienced this before.

Many years ago I was told it's the calcium working its way through the keratin. At any rate, no one knows what it is, but you only see it on healthy babies.

That makes me feel a lot better, I was wondering if it was some type of parasite or something along those lines. Thank you Yvonne!

No one really knows. It seems to be anecdotally related to more humidity/moisture.
