So my mum just came up to me and asked if this bulb would do instead of a fluorescent uv/b bulb. I just wanted to check with you if this was the case or if you always need a special reptile bulb. It is from PHILIPS and is 60 watt. Thank you!

that bulb does not emit UVB, neither does it emit out any heat to benefit your torts...... it is a normal bulb with a light range of around 6500K which is usually the light range for aquatic plants.....
