Hi everyone! I live in Phoenix, AZ and have had my tort for just over four years. I have so many questions and am so exited to be united with this group! I think she is a sulcata, but the vet I just brought her to said she thinks she is a desert tortoise...I am not convinced. Here she is as a newby.

Welcome! He kinda looks like a little desert, but the picture angle and quality makes it hard to say for sure. Do you have any clearer, more recent photos?

If you post a few pictures of her today it would be easier to tell. Many look very similar as babies.

Hi and welcome. I'd like to see more, but at this time I am going with sulcata.

Yes, no worries. It's for sure a little sulcata.

Welcome to the forum! Arizona is a great place for tortoises.

Welcome to the forum! I'm also in Phoenix. Had a tort for 3 yrs. I agree with others that your tort looks like a sulcata. Is the vet one who specializes in exotic pets?

There are some very vets in Phoenix area who specialize only in exotics. It's a little concerning the vet u saw couldn't correctly determine the species of ur tort (although more pictures would help us be certain yours is a Sulcata).
