To paraphrase yoda " age matters not" I got my first one at 8. Why in the world would we be mad at a young person looking for info on how to care for their tort ( what is the world coming to?). I would plant the seeds in small containers and then place the container in there if you don't the sprouts would be eaten as soon as they germinate.
