Hi, after upgrading my Russian tortoise tank from a 20gallon to a 40 gallon tank( used) it seems to not be eating and is also not as active. Can this be a result of the tank change, keep in mind I also changed the log it goes under to. Thank you all

Double and triple check your temps. A bigger enclosure might need more to heat it then the smaller one. If all is correct, then give it about a week an see if he settles in. If you can, put the log he liked back in. Some don't take to being moved well.

If he was healthy (eyes, nose), ate well, pooped normally, had soaks, etc., previously, then yes, just wait for awhile.
Some torts retreat a bit with a new enclosure to make sure it is safe.
Barb is right; check temps for warm and cool side.

As others have said it is perfectly normal for a Russian to take its time getting comfortable in a new environment. Check your temps often, and don't change anything else for a looong time. I hope all is well.

Russians usually adapt quickly, but not every tortoise is alike. If he is healthy and he is warm, then it will just take time till he adjusts to his new home
