These are coming up all around our property since we had a terrific downpour a few weeks ago. We are in low desert SE of Palm Springs.

As near as I can tell, this is a type of datura...poisonous for humans and animals. One description calls it a "deleriant, with a high probability of overdose".

Pretty, but bad news if eaten!!20181121_161449.jpeg

That is one of the ones I pull out by the root and put it straight in the trashcan.

I’ll have to look for this little cousin of Jimweed. Awful stuff but I’m not sure I’ve got this type around me. Time for a tramp around the neighborhood.

Hmm, I think that might turn out to be regular Jimweed. If it gets much larger we’ll know for sure!

Thanks. I think at my old place I would get that growing in the gravel driveway and parking area. I just used a weed torch to get rid of it.
A weed torch???! We don't use fire to get rid of weeds down here in the land of no rain for 10 months of every year...
