Hey everyone :)

More new mom woes, I'm afraid.

I have compared other pictures and I am concerned Millie has some spots on her from when my humidity was too high in her enclosure last week.

If it is shell rot, I would be so appreciative if anyone has the suggestions of an exact brand to look for at the store, or the medication in the product. I think I would need athlete's foot creme, is that correct? Also of how to apply and for how long.

I think I fixed the humidity, but it looks like I might need to fix the kid, too.

Thank you thank you thank you :<3::(:<3:

It could be the start of shell rot. It certainly won't hurt to dab on some athlete foot cream for a week or so.

That's an awfully cute baby.

:<3: Yvonne, that reply made me feel so much better. From that picture, I was afraid it had gotten really bad really fast.

We are about to run out the door, so I will stop at Walgreen's and get something like this? Would any brand be okay (like the generic)?

Any brand is ok. It's the ingredient, not the brand name.

That cream is perfect! It's the clotrimazole that is needed to heal the rot. In the uk a lot of athletes foot creams don't have that ingredient in it so I was nosy and had a check of the one you were buying :)

Thank you, kirsty! I was going to compare the brands and see which had the most common ingredient, but that makes it much easier :D Saved me standing for 10 minutes in deep thought in the aisle, pondering fungal cremes LOL

Haha I only know because I did exactly that and bought a cream that didn't contain clotrimazole and it didn't make a bit of difference and them someone had to point out I was putting random athlete foot cream on my tort that wouldn't help. Hope the little guy feels better soon!

There is a good chance I would have done the same thing, so I appreciate it!! :)

I also updated the Tortoise Tool Kit thread with the correct medication, it was on my list of questions there, too.
