I currently have my hatchling angulate tortoise on potting soil with no added fertilizers. What are your experiences or thoughts on using this as a substrate? I grow plants in his enclosure as well (grasses, sedum, aloes etc)

If it's ingested can it cause impaction? I haven't seen him eat it but sometimes bits of the soil stick to his food

This is what it looks like IMG_20190430_151105.jpg

I would recommend getting a slate for the food so the substrate doesn’t stick to the food. All substrate has the potential to cause some problems.
