Quarantine time?

Torty-Man has lived with me for 1 year now, and I couldn't be more happy with him. I have just ordered him 2 harem girls, or perhaps I've orderd her 2 co-wives. At any rate, the new ones are the same size, the same age, and are coming from the same source. How long should I house them separately before they all get to start bunking together?

I do a fecal exam as soon as they arrive.If everything is good with that,I usually keep them apart for a month.Others have different lengths of time,this is just what I do.

Frequently I hear 6 months on our forum here and I'm afraid I'm ignorant about it. All of my reptile vets have told me that with two clean fecals a week or two apart, that no communicable disease takes longer than 14 days to incubate and show symptoms. Several said to go ahead and wait 21 days if I was worried about it.

If you hav 2 torts quarantine them seperately, as even if they are healthy, one could accidentely pick up something and spread it to the other one. Other than that, follow what jackrat and Tom said.

We have heard similar also, we get alot of drop offs, trade ins, etc. and I always keep them seperate until they are relocated. This way no possible chance of any problems. Big concerns are thru fecal and water contamination/transfers.
