Heyy guys I have a tortoise and she’s called Chiquita. I’ve had her for about a year now and she’s grown pretty big. She’s about 7 inches and I’m planning on building her a nice place outside so that she can roam around. However my backyard has cement/concrete so I was wondering how I could build her the best habitat possible. I was thinking on getting these bricks (about 2 feet high) to build like a nice little grass area for her. If any of you guys have suggestions I would gladly take them. Thank you for your time!!

Hi what species is your tort - sulcata maybe?
Is all your yard covered or will the grass be in a sunny spot?

Hello they’re a sulcata and I’m planning on covering most of the concrete in dirt from the pictures

One sulcata? What size is it now? One layer of brick may not keep it in. You may have to do two for now depending on its size.

Plan on three good levels of those pavers, especially if you are planning on many inches of substrate. “They” for a singular pronoun gets us confused since they (multiple, more than one) don’t work well in pairs.

good luck

I had the same issue with concrete getting too hot for my sulcata. I ended up covering a section with pavers and placing logs around it to keep it cooler. If you're in Carrollton and need help adjusting your yard setup, I used https://emersonproservices.com/carrollton/ to change parts of my hardscape, and they were really easy to work with.
