Hi everyone. I have a young red foot tortoise. I had it for a few months. now he is starting to bury himself. The only time he wants to come out is to eat and maybe move around a bit but then he goes back to bearing himself is this normal?

Yes
That doesn't sound strange at all.
Do you have like a sideways pot or anything he can use for a night "house"?
He's just trying to feel hidden and safe. And young RF sleep a lot.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I do have a pot in his enclosure. He has recently been burying himself outside of it. He used to sleep in it at night and napes during the day.
