4 inch male, left with me after a friend moved, has an abscess on his neck. Now this is my problem? What to do with him? I have contacted a few rescues they are maxed out and not able to help. I can properly house him through the summer but don't want him full time. I have 8 Sulcatas to look after.
What other options are out there? Any body here want him?

If you can't afford to take care of him properly, taking to vet when needed, you shouldn't have taken him in. Thats not really helping him out. Sorry, I can't be more sympathetic, your poll options didn't set good with me. I sure hope you do the right thing and get him some veterinarian care.

Thanks Wellington, but they were going to let him go in a fountain. And I thought it would not be to hard to get him to some one who can help him. Turns out a sick turtle that can be replaced with a healthy one for under $20 or free in most cases, saving one is not high on the priority list for most people. Sad I know, and I fall into this group as well. Would you like a turtle?

I'm in So Cal, so I'm not close - but if you can get him here somehow I will take him and get him to my vet. Let me know if I can help.

I did a GOOGLE search for "Arizona turtle rescue" and got many, many hits. Turn him over to someone who will take care of him.

Sorry, I would love to help and take him, but I don't have the room.

I understand how one could get in this situation.....not wanting your friend to let him go and you end up taking him :(. When my Trudy had an RI I took her to the vet. The vet said there was something else wrong with her also. I spent a lot of money on test, he still didn't know what was wrong with her. More test would be a LOT more money......I gave her shots for a long time. When they ran out the RI was not gone. I felt hopeless. I could not do the shots again. I felt like I was torturing her. I started giving her lots of baby food soakes and adding herbs + human antibiotics that I crushed up. That was over a year ago and she seems fine. My piont is maybe there is another way. I don't know anything about abcsesses, but maybe someone else could advise on how YOU could treat the turtle. Just a thought......

I found a neighbor who knows how to treat afflictions such as this turtle has. So once we get him the picture of health, we will continue looking for a home.

How about a picture of the abcess? Maybe there's something that can be done. Is it an open infection, or an ear infection?
