Roaches in mulch

So I bought cyprus mulch for my Sulcata tortoise enclosure from home depot, two days later had roaches all over my house. Be careful bringing it into your house. Now I probably have to get an exterminator

Oh wow! That's horrible! I almost had the same thing happen to me, but it was with that forest moss (comes in a brick and you have to add water to fluff it) and I mean my whole room is filled with these little annoying flies! Not fruit flies, much smaller and dumber but they're EVERYWHERE!!! an they like to fly in my nose an annoy the crud out of Elias.. :-/

People bake there soil to kill bugs. I never had a huge problem with bugs but choosing bags without holes tend to help, warm water mixing it then letting it dry out and then doing the same process seemed to help, baking can be long process,

Thats awful! We had earwigs (pinchers) infestation due the mulch, so now we freeze the soil and mulch to be sure.

I would be in a nut house if I had roaches and probably divorced. OMG, that is awful. Thanks for sharing. I will be even more cautious of any substrates I bring home.

I just remembered, I have a bag of it out in the garage, from Home Depot. I bought it about a month ago, just haven't used it yet. It might just go in the garbage. Do you live in an area that has a lot of **** roaches? I heard Texas is good for them or do you think they were shipped in the bag? I am creeping out. LOL I can't do roaches

They creep me out almost as much as roaches
