My husband bought me roses for Valentine's day a week ago and I was wondering if, instead of tossing them in the garbage when they get wilted, it would be safe to feed either petals or leaves to my Russian? We have daisies here too, but some have food coloring in the stems so I'm sure those wouldn't be okay. Just looking to add variety during the Wisconsin winter months!

Most florist use chemicals to produce their beautiful flowers. I would not take any chances.

Thanks for your advice! I thought maybe the chemicals might have gotten diluted after sitting in water for a while. I'll just get rid of them.
