Safe woods for building enclosure.

I want to build an enclosure for my adult redfoot, she is about a 12 inches from head to tail and approximately 9/10 years old.

What would the best/safest wood to use for my build? Also safest sealent for the wood to keep it from rotting?

If you use a pond liner for sealant, there is no need to worry about what wood you're using.

Regular plywood and pine is what I use.

The only "sealants" that I've seen work are non-toxic boat paint, or Pond Shield by Pond Armor. MarkW also recommends kitchen countertop paint, but I've haven't tried that yet.

Thanks! Is pond liner pretty durable? She seems to like to "Dig" in the corners.

pond liner is epoxy pretty much. people make plywood aquariums using it
