Am I being crazy or actually seeing an issue?
So I have been a nervous wreck ever since Hermanns mycobacterium infection and the surgery to remove his granuloma months ago.
He has been doing well since, and got his sutures out in late May.
He is active, eating, drinking, and generally being a menace, and is about to move from his hospital tank back into his 8×3 enclosure.
Today I looked over at him and noticed one of his eyes was closed, I picked him up and he opened it, but it is subjectively swollen compared to the other eye.
I examined him all over, I found two small red spots on his front legs, kind of like scabs, and I think I see a slightly pink coloration on his plastron.
Now I may be imagining things, and I hope I am, but the pink color made me panic.
I'm posting pictures.
He is eating, drinking, and active like always, he responds to everything I do, he hates being handled. I can't find any soft spots on his shell.
I don't know much about septicemia, I've just always read that once that color shows up a lot of the times they are already very ill and not much can be done.
He is a good weight, the same as a few months ago at his recheck exam, just under 800 grams, where he has been since reaching adulthood.
I also attached photos of the scar where the granuloma was on his head, I think it is looking good. Now I think my brain is tricking me into seeing a spot of swelling, but it is probably scar tissue.
