Server Suggestion

So, I'll start off saying I know nothing about serves and how exactly they work.
Would decreasing the size of stored PM's help with server space? I have a few hundred and I don't think I PM that much so I can imagine what other people have if they don't delete theres. I'm sure that takes up a lot of memory. Just a thought.

Probably not nearly as much as all the photos that get uploaded to the site.... If everyone used TinyPic or some other "outside server," there would be much less load on the TFO site. I think the text of PMs are very small compared to the pics.

Decreasing PMs and attachments would both help the server load. We used to have unlimited PMs (some had 1,000+!) but now I think the limit is around 250. Attachments can definitely slow things down and services like tinypic and photobucket help quite a bit but I think the root of the problem is our current host/server. I'm shopping around for a better/cheaper/faster host that will hopefully solve all of these issues.

When you change, can you make a browse to upload and automatically resize pictures for easier picture postings? Here also, I have no idea about computers, I know that on other forums this makes it easier for most of us challenged.
