I know it's not good to be 'proud,' but I must admit, I'm pretty darned proud at how my two Manouria emys phayrei are turning out. I hatched one of them in 2015 and I bought a hatchling from Vic Morgan in 2016, so they're four and five years old now.

The bigger one when he was just hatched and now:

A clump of grass with a head. . . er. . . uh. . . I mean the four year old:

I'm just so darned proud of the way they're growing. Smooth as can be and perfect in every way.

Is so beautiful to see how your MEPs have grown! They look so healthy and living large!
:):tort:
I too have MEPs from Vic Morgan and they are such hoots!
You should be proud because it is a lot of work to take care of these guys.??

Thank you Yvonne G, for all you do to help us all learn more to be better caretakers of these wonderful creatures!

Are these the only two you have now ? They look great.
I have 1.1 Manouria emys emys and 0.0.4 Manouria emys phayrei. I got the two youngest from Will either two or three years ago. I took them because of aberrant scutes. I've been running the weedeater all morning and my back is killing me, but when I recover I'll go out and get pictures of them.

I am seriously considering Manouria for my next tortoise. I live in South FL and curious if MEE or MEP is better suited for warmer climates?

great job Yvonne, they look great. Thanks for sharing photos. I have no experience with this species. What are they like? What do they eat?

I feed mine like one feeds redfooted torts, with the exception they also eat allocasia and collocasia. They're very box turtle-like. Once they get to know you they follow you around for a hand out.
