Hi All and Merry Xmas.

I've been offered a 32cm long female Sulcata that's 4 years old and appears healthy and nicely grown. Weight approximately 5.5kg. At this size I dont want to make a mistake and buy an immature male.

Can other members offer their opinions please to help me make my decision?

Thanks and season's greetings - Pete

Thanks Jodie. Im unsure too which is why I posted pics. I have my doubts that it's a female as anal scutes appear to be starting to 'migrate' outward.

It is still too young to tell for sure, but I'm leaning toward male also because of the scutes and the fat tail.

This little guy looks male to me. It's only a guess since I read a sexing sulcata book recently

I'm afraid that's male. See how the anal scutes are flaring outwards towards the back legs? Male.

Oh that's fine as I didnt go ahead and buy this tortoise as I felt the signs were indicating possible male.

Thank you everyone for your input. It's much appreciated.
