Shell help.

I took in this little guy last week. No one really knows how long he was in the wild for but word on the street is he is a Russian. I'm new to the game and trying to educate myself quickly. Any advice on how I can help his shell? I'm thinking something tried to eat him because his shell is pretty banged up. He seems pretty healthy otherwise.

Yes he/she does look look like a Russian, it doesn’t look like it was attacked . It seems it has been burned. I have no experience in this situation.

That poor tortoise has had a rough go at it. Wow.

It looks like the carapace damage is old and cosmetic. Nothing to do about it now, but give the tortoise good living conditions and food. You can clearly see the scrape marks of canine teeth. Poor thing.
