Shell lightening

My Russian’s shell is getting lighter along he scute lines. Is this bad? It’s new.

Nope, not bad at all. However, the new growth does look a bit dry. It might help if you were to paint the new growth lines, using a Q-tip, with either olive oil or cold pressed coconut oil, allow it to absorb for a few minutes, then polish it off with a clean, absorbent cloth.
